Just got a quote from Firestone, they have a set in San Antonio that can be here in 2 days. They quoted me $900 for the wheels, and $819 for a set of FireHawk SZ50 EP 255/50/ZR16. Grand total is $1,890 out the door. Is that a good deal? If not, where can I find the wheels and/or tires cheaper? I don't want to get them online because of shipping, hassle, etc.. unless the price is just way better.

Re: Cheapest place for TTII Wheels? (Jman)
I bought mine from Summit 2 years ago. (4)16x8 TT2's $880 incl shipping. Tires I think I got from Tire Direct. Gooyear Eagle HP-Ultra-Plus, 255-50-16 for $132ea + $40 shipping. Mounting and balancing was about $75.
So my grand total was $1523 or so. I had everything deliver to my house & drove the wheels & tires over to the tire shop for mounting. :chevy
Re: Cheapest place for TTII Wheels? (GrandSportC3)
I always found that tirerack had the best prices for tires, and will mount and balance for free if you buy the wheels from them, too. Even with shipping, they are usually less than local when you consider sales tax, etc. Joe
I just found some Yokohama Avid S/T 255/60/15 that might do the trick for my stock wheels. The more I think about spending nearly 2K on tires/wheels the more I'm liking those $50 Yokohamas.

I saw a 5pc set TTII's 17x8 with 255/45R17 once on ebay from the Chicago area used going for about $1K. I thought seriously about it but backed away.
To me the problem with used is making sure they are the exact size, backspacing, bolt pattern for the C3 and making sure the rims arent damaged, out of round or have excess runout. There is some history of this with the TTII's.
Mostly I find ebay sellers are just advertising new and really arent offering any good deal that a shop anywhere else wouldnt offer. I havent seen used TTII's really anywhere else yet-although that would be nice to find.
For front- any rim 17 x 8 18 x 8 will fit by keeping 4 inch BS for correct geometry. I would go no wider than 265's for clearance issues and probably would stay with 255s.
For rear- 17 x 8 17 x 9.5 18 x 8 18 x 9.5
Anything with more than 4.5 inch backspacing in the rear would require the offset trailing arms. The frame starts to play into this somewhere after this point too.
Tires for the 9.5 could easily fit 295s
How the backspace is acheived, whether by rim design or machined adapters doesn't seem to matter. To clear the calipers, only the rim spoke style has an effect on this and doesnt have anything to do with backspacing. For certain styles you may need a 1/8 to 1/4 inch spacer plate.
17 x 11s with the stock trailing arm means you could set up with 4.5 inch BS and would then have 6.5 inch past the rotor mounting face to the outside rim edge which is 2.5 inch further out than stock rims.
17 x 11s with 2 inch off set trailing arms could in theory give you a conservatively safe 1.5 inch extra backspace from stock 4 inch allowing 5.5 inch BS meaning you would then have 5.5 inches past the rotor mounting face to the outside rim edge which is 1.5 inch further out than stock rims.
Tires for this maybe you could get 305s to fit maybe 315s?
Thanks for the info MN-Brent
That is really tempting to run such wide tires and still look cool with the 17's or 18's I wontder if i could still get good traction at the track.
Maybe someday...not enough $$ right now, but i appreciate the info!!
