it was made on 11/21 and it was the 48190th one of that model or body. so it was something that had a bit over 100k total build run. my swag is a pick up trruck engine since that is where most of the 454's came from. also possible impala or caprice engine. 73, i think. no more 454 in chevelle or camaro. never in nova. don't think anything bigger than 402 went in monte bombs. and i doubt anybody would restamp a 250 hp 454. especially when there is no body with matching vin. possibly upgraded when it went into the boat. but it left some assy plant in a car or truck.

randolph nj. closest water is new your harbor. nice and salty. hear exchanger or raw water cooled? cuz salt water bbc heads rot through at the #7 and 2 exhaust valves. pull the water pump. look at the hole the pump covers that water pump gasket seals to. nice and thick and square edges, or rounded off and pitted? i scrapped a 454 block and heads that spent it's life in the hudson river.
