Can the window motor on a 1980 be removed without clamping the regulator if the window is fully up?

dont quite under stand your post, but yes the window must be up to remove the motor

I don't know about your 80,but my 77 is not spring loaded. I think that is what you're asking.

I thought it says you should insert the bolt to lock the mechanism before removal !
