Has anyone added headers & used a relocation bracket (s) for mounting the alternator? The old Rams horns manifolds will be removed & that's a mounting point for the lower alternator. I have no idea how the brackets I bought are supposed to be arranged. Any ideas or pics of yours? My pics attached. Thx!
O.P. does not have the early mount holes drilled & tapped in those old camel heads. Thats why the ALT was header / manifold mounted.
Otherwise, a later model cast iron bracket would work.
Nice billet though capt.
And p.s. I hope you have good fire insurance with that plastic fuel filter.
Thanks for the concern. I flushed the fuel tank and that's a visual thing until I get the car ready to drive. As I fine tune and run it in the garage I want to see if I got it all.
Go online to billit specialties and see if they have a bracket to fit your problem. They make a lot of different configurations.
The one with the notch goes against the header, side facing up in picture against engine with bracket above the header. The other one bolts to the slots and mounts the bottom of the alternator. Long bracket goes from intake bolt to top of alternator.
The left bracket goes over the header tube 1 and uses the bolts to attach it. The bracket to the right will attach to the slots in the header bracket, and also attach to the bottom of the alternator. The top curved bracket goes from the upper water pump bolt to the adjustment bolt on the alternator. I don't have any pictures, but I am sure google could find some if you look for Hooker header alternator bracket.
