Default 68 Rear Spring Cushions

I bought new spring cushions for my rear spring because the old ones were badly worn out. They were like a half inch thick or less. The new ones are about an inch thick and there is no way I can compress or lift the sprig high enough to to put the bottom one one without it lifting the whole car. Did I get the wrong cushions or can I slice them in half to make them go on ??????

Where are you jacking from? Are you out far enough? What spring you running? Pics?

Make certain the long bolt is all the way into the trailing arm. Make sure you are lifting at the end of the spring, like he said. Then do the left side with your wife in the driver seat.
It also depends how the front is jacked up. If you have jack stands behind the engine on the frame, there isn't enough weight on the back.

I don't know how to post pics from my I-phone. But I'm doing it just like your picture ! The spring is whatever came in a 68 convertible. Even in your picture, your spring isn't up far enough to get the new fat bushing on the bottom ! My jack stands ARE behind the engine so I will put one in front of it and try that ! My worn out bushings are really flat compared to the new ones with the round top.
