High Amp Alternator wiring
Installing a hi amp one wire alternator.
Can I simply run a 6ga wire from the output to the battery terminal on the starter? Then remove the voltage regulator?

pretty much. But some sort of protection is a good idea. A Fusible Link down at the starter. Or, I put in a strip fuse panel on the engine side of the passenger footwell.

Ive always been told the original power wire should be left in place as well but im honestly not sure why.. I had an internal regulator year car though too. I put an inline fuse in my 6awg wire near the starter which came with the "painless wiring" kit I bought on summit.
Is my vette stock?? HAHA

I did what you are thinking of doing and bought the Lectric LImited external voltage regulator wiring eliminator. Its pricey but its plug and play. It just reruns the wires into each other. You still need to run the origianl wires from the starter to the horn relay though
