I ended up making a shim for the alternator. Belt only has a paper thin gap between the PS pump. trying a longer belt to tip it back now, but Autozone has to order v belts from the hub store everytime.
The belts are done! I had to make a THICK shim. The thin ones weren't doing anything. My Dad's a science teacher, he said "take the thickness of the shim, divide it by the number of pulleys touching the belt, and that's how much it will actually move. It worked
Now that you seem to have solved your alignment problem.
Do you have the correct water pump?
If the engine came out of an Impala, it may have a long water pump and most Corvettes take a short water pump.
Yeah I have alignment issue too. Tried to fix it by moving washers from back to front on AIR gizmo, but it's still out a tad. Any ideas?
Is it an optical illusion or is the air pump installed at an angle with the bottom front more inward than the top?
Put a level on the pulley and see if it’s square with the others.
Another thought, are you running your belts per factory set up?
Many people don’t and that can also mess things up.

A PO added the Vintage Air. It was originally a non AC car. I suspect something went wrong belt-wise at that time. If I remember correctly the AIR pump is straight/level, it just needs to move backwards a quarter inch or so.
