Setting rear toe after installing Ridetech bits
71 custom (my first C3) Ridetech rear setup, new bearings, new wheels and tires, etc….
I know to adjust shims and maybe this is a dumb question but how do I know if both wheels are basically parallel to the centerline of the car to start with? Do the new trailing arms and shims make it “close”?
I matched the exiting shim packs when I put the new shims in but I can’t vouch for the previous owners work.
Wheels are toed out about 1/4” but how do I know that they should be both adjusted? Making my head hurt….

I projected a line across each rear rim up to the front and measured in to frame center, and double checked to the front spindle centers, (which unless you know where they are could be different on each side)
Comparing both sides to determine rear thrust.
Then when I checked the rear toe I made the shim adjustment to correct the thrust and toe accordingly. Once thrust is in you can keep working on toe but need to make sure your not screwing the thrust back up

The father forward the larger the readings will be so it's easier to see the difference type of thing
