gas tank
my 73 gas tank has 3 BB size holes. should I patch with JB weld or replace with new tank

Agreed. If there are currently 3 holes, number 4 is already on its way. New tanks are pretty affordable.

Be sure and check for the build sheet if the tank is original to the car. There are tons of posts on ways of removing the sheets in one piece.
