Having some trouble solving this problem. I purchased my 78 from an estate. No latch key for t tops supplied. My local lock shop says that I have to remove the latch in order for them to create a new key. They won’t make an impression on a car lock. I see only one way to remove latch without damaging top, somehow drilling out the two fasteners from below. Any other ideas?
Factory did not have any locks. They are aftermarket and your keys will not fit. You can bend the tang and remove them most likely. Better to buy some new ones that come with working keys. The metal tang is in the way. Bend it forward and slide the locks back off the levers.
