When I start vehicle my wiper cover is opening as if the switch is on. Doesn’t retract
I’ve got fuse out & disconnected a wire near the wiper/hydraulic cylinder.
Why/how is the cover opening? What is best solution to keep disconnected?
Mine does that too but I think it's cool... I'm guessing a vacuum leak but I haven't found the time to look into it. Search on the forum and you'll find how to test the system.
I don’t have a pic of the hoses themselves, but you remove the two hoses from the actuator circled in the photo and use a dowel or similar object to plug them so they don’t leak vacuum. Your actuator may look different, more like a soup can than a spaceship.
With those hoses plugged, the door will have to be opened by hand, by taking the rubber plug off the front of the actuator and pushing on the diaphragm inside with a blunt object. To close, just push down in the wiper door itself.
Thx much. I’ll try that. This wiper system unique & complex.
Found an article that breaks details down. A lot of relays, vacuum lines etc.
im just trying to keep it from opening at this point. 🤞
More odd is the cover only started going up automatically after I replaced my Horn relay?
Somewhere seems to be connecting power or ? But I didn’t see on initial diagram. Which is why I ruled out vacuum lines initially
Anyone know of a relation?
