What is a good sounding muffler for a 78 Vette, w base 350 engine.
Are Flow Masters recommended? Which model.
I want a deep semi-loud result.
I have flowmasters on mine which in the future I plan on replacing with a stock type muffler. Reason being is they sound ok, but I get some drone in the lower rpm ranges, which I do not like.
I have the N11 optional muffler on my 68 L79 with long tube headers. No cross over pipe or drone at all.. Although it does have a classic sound, I must say at age 65 and a years worth of driving, they do tend to ware on you or me. I am searching out something that has a bit of a tamer sound at WOT. The N11 off road can get quite load. A lot of comments come my way when people hear me get on it. All positive but from where I sit and over time, I am considering quiting the exhaust. This is just me.
Thanks for the mention! The whole Corvette Central kit is a fantastic option to replace a factory setup. They give a stock-like tone that's maybe a step louder, but not a ton.
I have since switched to a set of 409 stainless Flowmaster Super 44's in place of the magnaflows. I wanted something that had a bit more "presence" or "rumble" at idle and when just putting around town, but didn't induce a ton of drone. The Super 44's did the trick. I'll try to get a clip of the 44's posted soon.
