On my 1982 corvette the gauge fuse a 20 amp fuse keeps blowing. I disconnect the wiring connection to the center cluster gauges and when I replace the fuse it blows immediately. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

GEt out the ohm meter. Trace the wires for continuity to ground. You have a short. Even a strand of wire can cause it. Isolate the wiring possibly and power up to see if it doesn't blow.
There was just a post about this. Check the wiring diagram, but I think the cigarette lighter is on the same circuit. A wire could be pinched to ground, as well.
On a 77, which I would assume that a 82 would be similar.
Gauges fuse powers the center cluster guages. the tachometer, the brake warning light, cruise control, seatbelt-headlight-ignition key warning buzzer And power to the generator warning light.
Not the cigarette lighter.
But still, a lot of stuff.
Best of luck.
