Ok, need help with power question. 1973 Corvette L82.
I added an edelbrock carb w electric choke and also corrected a wiring issue the PO created by wiring the Pertronix HEI directly to the coil. 42 year certified mechanic instructed me to run a new wire from the choke, disconnect the pertronix from the coil, combine those two on a home run to the fuse box and tie into the AUX plug.
I ran the wire to the box but hit the port that say 'Batt'. (assume this is always hot)
believe I should have hit "AUX" instead or right into the extra port on the "IGN" wire?
car ran fine,1st day.. ran really good. Sat overnight and I took it for a cruise--the radio went out. Came home parked it. Next day the battery is dead, and after swapping batteries with a known good battery, I get zero. No light, no power to anything. Obviously will not crank---
Obviously I disconnected the wire completely. Battery on a tender and is fully charged but I am dead as dead can be.
Is there a fusible link, somewhere or something that may have fried that hopefully won't cost a fortune and even my dumb *** can fix?

Thank you for the help!!!
Maybe check fusible link going to starter? I had the big red 10g wire from firewall that goes to starter with a bad connection, and i would have a full battery with absolutely 0 power to the car. Check fusible link going to starter positive terminal.. if that's fried, it's a few bucks to pick up a new one from the autoparts store!
Run either the Pertronix or the choke to the IGN spade at the fuse box NOT both. The other one typically can be run to the hot wire with key in run position at the wiper motor.
Did you test good battery with a voltmeter?
Buddy of mine stuck a potato up the exhaust pipe once.
ran for a solid minute....... then didn't
Guys across the street laughed while I tried to figure it out.
Never got it all out.
Smelled really good for several days................
The choke coil and the pertronix unit not only killed the battery, but probably fried the fusible link. There's a few links attached to the battery terminal of the starter. Check them out, but disconnect the battery before you go probing under there. You might have toasted the choke coil and the module too.
I ran two home runs back to the fuse box. Intend to hit IGN w pertronix and would like to hit AUX w choke. I did not have 12a at the wiper motor connect. Will this work?THANK YOU

Just test Aux to make sure it is dead with key off.

If you try to take power at the wiper, you could lose power when the motor turns on` due to the motor creating a current spike when it turns on. Resulting in a stall.
My Edelbrock Electric choke is connected to the plastic connector, going to the back up light switch on the tranny. The plug has two wires, one is hot only when the ignition is in the run position. You can find the plug on the passenger side of the brake mater cylinder.
