Volt Meter question
I am in the process of swapping my amp meter to a volt meter but have one question re wiring.
The gauge is working fine and I have taken power from the pink feed to the fuel gauge that is via the ignition circuit.
After reading many threads on this there was many different views on what to do with the the wires that previously went to the amp meter, (always hot)
Some say wire them together others say just tape them up.
from looking at the wiring diagram I can’t see a reason to wire them together so just setting it aside looks like the best option.
any thoughts please.

Don't wire them together.
You don't want power wires in parallel - much less different sizes.
If the power wire fails (starter to horn relay) - or has less than ideal connections- power will try to go thought the ammeter wires- more than likely burn the fusible links,
I would actually go to the trouble to remove them all together.

Tape, heat shrink them off. Or as stated above completely remove them, No way should you join them.

Thanks for confirming, that was my thought as well but just wanted to be sure.

I did the swap this summer. i just left the wires disconnected. they are in a plastic connector so they are not going to short on anything.

Same here, just taped them safely out of the way.
