Default Parking brake assembly

So on my 1977 Corvette I want to change the handle only on the parking brake assembly. Does anybody know if I can do that without taking the whole assembly out. Can I do it with the assembly attached to the car. I just need to replace the handle. Thank you

This assembly is out of my 1977.
There is a roll pin that needs to be driven out.
Would I try to drive it out with the assembly still in the car NO
Without supporting the area where the roll pin is pressed in you may damage other surrounding plastic and metal parts including the EB frame.
Including the roll pin there are 4 different parts that need to be aligned.
#1 Roll Pin.
#2 Handle.
#3 Fixed Cable eccentric wheel.
#4 Front Cable attaching bracket.
Do you really want to try aligning those parts when still in the car?
