I'm missing something in a conversion from an HEI back to a points/condenser ignition. Car started fine before conversion.
Have installed new points, condenser, primary lead, rotor, cap and coil on a '69 350/350. Plug wire sequence double checked. Distributor reinstalled per Technical Bulletin by Lars and following GM Service Bulletin for Alternate Orientation. Following Technical Information Bulletin on Peak Performance Timing by Lars, also.
Carb is getting fuel. Have spark on #1 plug. Ignition cranks the engine but does not start. Three or four attempts to start the engine nearly drains the battery.
Appreciate any suggestions on things to check. Regards!
How many wires are connected to the positive terminal of the coil? It should be two wires sharing a horseshoe shaped connector.
Does the R terminal of the starter solenoid have a wire connected to it?

Good on the two wires to the positive terminal on the coil.
I'll have to check the R terminal on the starter solenoid.
Thanks for the suggestions, Mel.
