Black and Chrome..
Ok, so it's show off time, but I just love the look of a shiny black car with chrome. Also, the above view of the C3 sharks are just sharp.

Black is probably the nicest color for chrome bumper Vettes.. I decided to go with blue on my 68' because it's not as difficult to keep clean as black.

It's amazing, but black was dropped after 1969 because it was the least popular color. It didn't reappear on Corvettes until 1976.

I bet I know why. Ever hear your parents or someone say, "ew, don't get a black car, they are too hot in the summer."
I always replied with, "that's what air conditioning is for" But I guess the ac units wheren't as good then as they are now.
I can't imagine black not being a popular color because people thought it looked bad :crazy:

Do you have any more pics of your '69 with the black side exhaust covers? I've been thinking of someday replacing my Hookers with something less hot to the touch (to protect my kids, and bystanders).

Red and chrome is good also. I cannot wait to get pics with the new paint job. I will see how steel cities grey and chrome looks.

MN-Brent, yes, I'm a big Star Blazers fan. Saving up for that wave motion engine/gun from Argo Inc :lol:
I'll try to get a close up photo of the side pipes this weekend and post. I'm considering getting the Hooker sidemounts, and be the evil twin of 1bad69's car :D
