I had a squeaky fan belt but It was cause I had a chrome alternator bracket on and it was flexing causing the squeak...I put an OEM one on and no more squeak they sell them at the chevy dealer.. Maybe try a new belt or...An old Bubba trick is to take a candle and touch it to the belt while it is running.(easy temp fix)
Sometimes it is not the belt, but one of the accessories. Have you determined which belt it is? You may have to disconnect one at a time to determine which one it is. :chevy
Belts being too loose can cause a squeak but belts too tight will not likely cause a squeak. Belts too tight can cause stress on accesssory bearings like the water pump alternator and power steering bearings.
There are cheap belts out there that stretch. This will cause squeeling which is actually belt slipage. Premium belts are wire reinforced to prevent them from squeeling. Be sure you have the have one of these. Hope this solves your problem.

Good quality belts shouldn't give you any trouble. I personally like the Gates brand. Another temporary fix is dish soap! Quiets them right down until you can replace it.
Ask for Gates Green Stripe - their best belt.
I'd drive all over town to get a Green Stripe if your parts place doesn't have them. (They actually have a green stripe, so don't be fooled.)
