Hi everyone, quick question. Would I be able to use a braded steel flex fuel line from my pump to carb instead of the steel pre-bent line that comes withe the 77 Corvette. I went and purchased a new pre bent and line and upon installing it, I can not get it to fit. I have it traveling the same direction as the previous one but this new one won't fit. I bought it specifically pre bent for my 77. All curves and bends seem exactly similar to the previous one but for some reason it wont work. Would a braded steel flex line be ok so use?

Try this...
Unbolt the carburetor leaving gasket underneath.
Align your carburetors fuel inlet to the new steel line.
Start the new fuel line until the fitting is hand tight into the carb.
Now once you get the connection started, using the carb as leverage simply move it so you can start one bolt, massage carb a little more and start another bolt etc...
Don't over tighten carb bolts, now tighten the fuel line to carb fitting.
Or you could use the braided fuel line...
Many years ago, probably before the internet my original steel line cracked on my 1977.
Local speed shop sold me these parts.
Years later I purchased & installed the correct steel line.
The braided portion alone is 2' long
