76 rear sway bar

76 rear sway bar
Was the rear sway bar an option on the 76. I'm rebuilding the rear suspension and I don't have a sway bar. When it was included how does it clear the spare tire holder? Mid America shows an after market replacement. Anyone tried it?

I like genuine GM so I can`t answer your question BUT if you or anyone else is interested I have a brand spankin new (as in NOS) GM rear bar for your car. e-mail direct if interested.

Just finished re bushing my sway bar on the 77. It was an original gymkhana suspension option equipped.:thumbs:
Tidied up the spare wheel tub at the same time.- Doesnt get in the way at all as the sway bar fits behind it.:D:
Just check if your 76 has the nuts welded in the frame for a sway bar.
If not you have a major problem as the sway bar U supports are attached by bolts which secure onto nuts welded inside the frame.:(:
If the welded nuts are there just get the parts and its a straight forward fit.
Will take u about an hour to fit. Looks very sharp powdercoated.
