Guys I have a dilemma as I cannot locate anybody who can recondition my original Air conditioning hoses and pipes. I have noticed that the rubber is cracking and want to have them replaced while keeping the factory aluminum pipes. Do you guys have any suggestions?
Zip Corvette carries a variety of AC compressor hose for different year and engines. Years ago when I couldn't find correct hoses anywhere I went to a local AC place in Florida and they cut the old hoses off, welded new barbs on and then crimped new hoses on.
Before I installed the hoses I installed foil insulation like I saw on the C5 & C6 on the lower hose that runs very close to the exhaust manifold. Probably won't pass NCRS but it worked very well.
I just dug out the receipts for the work and it was done in 1996. Cost me $70 to have the barbs and hoses put on. Then I had to have the system charged after I put it together. Those days are long gone.
everybody still running 45 year old hoses needs to replace them. rubber is not made to last half a century. especially with 250 to 350 psi in it. be careful which you buy as each era of AC has different fittings at the firewall. not sure all the same at the condenser end. i know 75 is same as 78-82, but the earlier type txv and sight glass up front may be different than later ones.
IF you are going to get custom hoses, then I suggest that you get them long enough to keep them routed as far away from the exhaust as possible.
When I installed aftermarket ac on my 68 I just routed them without paying much attention.... then when I took the system down to install a trinary switch I re-rerouted them as best I could to as far away from the exhaust as possible.
Just something to consider
Try the below link, Original Air Group is part of or is Classic Auto Air. The contact info and below website is in Tampa Florida vice Texas. They offer vintage AC hose restoration, need to get approval before you can ship a part to them for repair.
Correction...I thought you were the guy in Sarasota, Fl.
I use to get custom hoses and/or hoses replaced on my fittings at Amazon Hose & Rubber in Tampa.
You might want to check to see if they can replace the hoses on your existing AC lines.

I have to make a comment here, sorry
73-E77 air-con is the VIR Style. The compressor changed types mid 76. Mid 77 they dropped the VIR System and went with a more modern system.
The hoses changed 3 times between 75 and 78.
