Default How to secure hubcaps?

I went for a good long drive yesterday (top down in Jan  ) and lost a hubcap. My wife heard a noise and I said it was just something in the road but when I got home I found out it was the center piece of the ralley wheels. I was :mad . I went back today and walked the side of the road where we thought it happened and I actually found it. It had a small dent on the side that I fixed in about five minutes. Since these things arn't cheap, what is the best way to ensure they don't fall off? I am thinking of putting some type of silicone sealer on its outer edges and see if that works.

RTV-silicone sealant is the best solution....barring just working on the clamps/clips/springs/grips a bit.....
I been there done that on and off for years now....

My friend w/ an early Camaro uses double-sided tape. Just to "snug up the fit"

I had the same concern about my derby caps. I think the silicone sealer behind the cap is a very good idea. I actually tried to "stretch" the derby cap mounting area on a large 3 jaw lathe, didn't have any success.
