I’m getting close to installing the gauges back into my center console and I will be replacing all the old oem gauges with new oem gauges.
I’m just wondering what these plates with the windings were for on the center console gauges and if they are necessary.
I don’t see them for sale anywhere.
Thanks!
Greg
Hi. Those are ohm resistor that were needed for the original gauges to display correctly; based on sender resistance. You will need them if using original gauges. Someone here may have some, probably used, that is how I found some. You'll also need fiber washers and insulators. http://repairs.willcoxcorvette.com/?...&s=temperature
I purchased all the gauges from Corvette Central.
I looked at their website and some of the gauges state in the spec’s that the gauge has an internal resistor and some of the gauges don’t make the statement.
I’ll call Corvette Central and see what they say or contact their supplier.
All the gauges came in GM boxes.
I’ll just need to do more research.
69TTop502, Thanks for the heads up!
