Default 1979 Corvette slow windows

Hello everyone,

I have a problem with my C3 today I replaced the window regulators / motors and motor gears. But the windows still go up and down very slow. so I tested with a battery connected directly to the new motors and the windows go up and down extremely fast...
The blower is also slow not much air flow, so could it be a bad ground? I asked my vette specialist mechanic to check the grounds about 3 months ago and he told me that everything was ok.

Any ideas of what can cause these problems...

Thanks

Double check battery ground under car and battery.
some may be corroded under insulation as well.

Thank you interpon,

I also just remembered that I have something else strange happening I can see sparks jumping from the spark plug cables close to the distributor there are no cuts no burnt areas the cables are almost new.

Sparks jumping from your plug wires will indeed cause missfires and this is totally not good.
I really don't care if they are new or 50 years old.
Sparks jumping means they are junk. Replace them.
I have had good luck with Standard Motor Products replacement plug wires. They are inexpensive and are factory spec.
As per your windows, yes it could be a poor/corroded ground. It could also be voltage drop from 40 year old wiring.
At some point these cars just need to be rewired.

The up/down switches are a weak point. They easily get dirty and they arc a little just before contacting which causes carbon build up. They can be serviced, but their enclosures are brittle and it’s a cheap part. Clean up every connection in the circuit and put back together with a little dielectric grease.

Fir needle blocking contact

Someone added a plastic shield to keep dirt out. Scorch marks from arcing.
