how about wires?
OK so we got to look at everyones' wires. But what kind of wires are ya using? And what type of hold downs? I see some of you have hold downs attached to the valve covers, and others just seem to run them seperators.
Can a few folks provide info such as WHAT TYPE of WIRE you're using, and also what KIND of SEPERATORS??
Taylor spiro pro, cut to fit, black, about $52. a good shop will let you borrow the crimpers free. i used the 45 degree boots(or 135 degree, depending on how you look at it), the original-like in line 4 hole rubber wire holder that slips into the metal bracket, mounted on the backside of each head. then i use some separaters from Moroso to hold them in place and away from the exhaust manifolds.
I just bought new MSD 8.5's to replace the Taylor (blue 8's) that I bought last summer. After a month or so the RFI got so bad with the Taylors that I can't turn the stereo on at all.
Well, I went over top as the only real way of making any logical sense to the wiring, and used the typical valve cover mounted Moroso clips....
cheap enough solution...I don't think much of the plastic Moroso supplies...i'ts junk....need something better...but I just use my old standby..RTV to glue it on to the steel supports....holds ok....
but being an old ET, knowing there is little if any real differances among wires, I went with the ~8 mm gray wire...found in universal sets.... got something from a LARGE engine for HEI....like a POntiac from late 70's??
I forget, maybe a BB chebby....don't matter...thing is...the plug ends are at 90* so that lets the wires route upward toward the supports...and the set had the length I could work with...taking long wires, removing the easier end and reclipping it to proper length.....
buying wire on a spool costs a FORTUNE, and in a set, it's nearly nothing by comparison.....so just buy a damn set, and trim as needed.....

Re: how about wires? (Larry82)
Thanks all... what I'm trying to do is get as much feedback as possible. I'm using Borg Warner spiral-wound steel wires and yea there is a lot of RF interference. But with that OEM crap radio I kinda think that's normal. But a couple of the boots burned when I broke in the cam and the headers turned cherry red. So they have been replaced with MSD straight boots and now the wire set looks like mishmash and I"m looking for a semi-permanent solution. :skep:
