until I fully check out my rear end
Hey, hey HEYYYY !! :D :D
Watch out this is a family forum!! :jester :jester
and if I don't start following up on my New Year's resolution I will need a dual mirror to check out my rear end  , better start looking for stiffer shocks and springs now,
I'm getting 125-130 miles per tank with the new engine. Still haven't pulled the tank down to figure out why I'm only able to add 11 or 12 gallons at Empty though.
Is this normal?? Sure seems like a short distance to have to add fuel! Now, even at 10MPG, I would still be able to go 175 miles or so if the darn tank held the 17 gallons it's supposed to! :smash:
What is the range of miles you guys get with stroker motors?  :nopity
That's approx. what I get... The best so far with the new engine was almost 200 miles.. However - this was in overdrive at consistant 70 mph ..
My stock L-81 gets about 24mpg on the highway and 16 around town... Of course the gas gauge doesn't work so I fill it up when I hit 150 miles on the tank regardless of how much gas is left... lol

Before reading this thread, I've never really given much thought to how nice it is that my '80 has a 24 gallon tank! With 17.4 being my best mpg so far, theoretically I could drive over 400 highway miles without a fill-up. Being that I dont do road trips very often, I usually have about 300 miles on a tank when I stop to fill it.

WOW looks like I have uncovered a real challenge with mine. It's no wonder I feel like I'm always adding gas at 120 miles/tank! :mad
So, now where can I get a drop-in tank with more capacity? What would it cost?
