5 Speed on its way

I have a new Tremec TKO that may use the same shifter. I purchased the PRO 5.0 shifter to go on it. If you can use the new shifter I remove I would be happy to send it to you for shipping cost. JIM :seeya

I'll be getting a Pro-50 as well and I too need to modify my welded in x-member to get this guy on.

Thanks, I'll let you know but would hate to hack up a new since you have to do some fabricating since it does not center in the our 4 speed console hole.
Red76 I believe it is a little longer than a muncie so I will have to shorten my drive shaft, good excuse to have it balanced though.

Might have to invest in a digital camera, about time I got into the 21st century. :)
Thanks Pat, hope to join the tpi crownd too, keeping my eyes open for one.:skep:
Multiple replies are work!
 WOW that thing is beefy! Pretty  too, looks like you can use three diff shifter location and at least two diff bellhousings.
I know these trannies like the back of my hand. I've installed all of them, multiple times in Mustangs. There is only one place the little shifter "ball" can be insert into the offset lever arm...and that does not allow you to move the shifter around to different mounting points.
Forget the stock Tremec shifter. It is complete crap. Do not waste your time with an OEM Mustang shifter, either (although it is better than the Tremec one). Too vague a shift feel. Get a Hurst, Pro 5.0, or B&M Ripper. All those are very good.
The World Class T5 has the following ratios:
3.35, 1.93, 1.29, 1.00, .68
If you got a (Z-code) trans (which is the HD World Class T5) then the ratios are:
2.95, 1.94, 1.34, 1.00, .63
Have fun!

Bzzt... there is only one shifter location on either the T5, T5z (super HD T5), Tremec 3550 or Tremec TKO.

As far as the shifter location, what are the other two areas on that tremec with plates on them for? They look almost identical in shape and size as the the opening for the shifter.

Sorry but I have to disagree. The TREMEC 3550 and TKO Trans have the ability to use multiple stations for the shifter when accompanied by an available kit. This enables them to be used in many early rods and cars with bench seats. As for the shifters quality, I have not used one yet, and probably will not. But yes, each of the towers you see are a shifter position. JIM

In any event, it would be interesting to see where that offset lever will have to be repositioned. Obviously it can be as the post above verifies.
Should make it real easy to retrofit with that option! :)
Pretty cool. :D
Hi there... I am just in the planing phase for the same conversion from my TH400.
What kind of clutch, flywheel and bell-housing will you be using? Do you know wether the old auto-starter will fit?
What yoke for the drive shaft will you use?
Bought the tranny from Forte's?
BTW, here is a link to Ghwite75's homepage which is an excellent documentation for the conversion: http://temp.corvetteforum.net/c3/gwhite75/

I don't think the cover plate on a Mustang T5 and a chevy T5 are the same. The mustang in rectangular shaped while the chevy is square or at least close to square.
