I had my hand on every rocker with motor running. No evidence of lash issues. Shroud is not it either.
You can't check sloppy valvelash with engine running very well. The lifters will be pumped up. If you have a collapsed lifter, it may only show up with engine off.

With both VC off, engine off, reach in the drivers window, just bump the IGN key. Go right down the line of rockers noting which valve is open, then check its partners valve rocker arm. Then do the other bank.

If you suspect any Bearing issues as mentioned above pull the Oil Filter and cut it open. Look to see whats inside and it is such a clear indicator as to the heath of the Bearings. It is such an easy and quick thing to do its always the first place I start.

Have to agree with Gale. If you spun a bearing it'll look like a ****** makeup in that oil filter.
