Default TH400 Question

So I have my 69 427 turbo 400 up on jack stands to do the rear e brakes. Since it was up in the air I thought I would confirm the rear gear ratio by marking the drive shaft and tire which I did . Moved it into neutral and tried to spin the rear wheel. It would only move about a 1/4 of a turn even with the calipers and e brake shoes off and then it seems to lock up. You can try to force it but it almost feels like I'm turning over the engine as well. Is this normal for a th400?

If the rear trailing arms are hanging down the 1/2 shaft u-joints will bind up making stuff really hard to try to rotate the shaftsM

Awe that could be it. Never thought of that I'll try raising the arms tomorrow and see if that does the trick. Thank you
