The vette has been in storage since October. Noticed that there is some kind of leak near the left rear tire. There is a puddle-stain on the floor, looks to be a little bit forward of the axle right ear the drivers side tire. Can't be from the axle, caliper is not leaking, to far forward to be a battery. What is over there to leak ?
Could something be running down your frame rail? Check you brake reservoir. Maybe rear diff leak dripping down strut rod? Do you run the car? could be condensation dipping out of exhaust from a connection.
Just some thoughts....
Last time I brought s/s brake calipers, (Vette Brakes of FLA) the instructions referenced that for cars in storage that occasionally the brake pedal should be pumped as the factory type seals will "take a set" and leak.
Since following their instructions after having one of the sleeved calipers start leaking, (ironically the same side as where you notice the fluid) have never had a brake problem due to leaks. I take the trouble to pump the pedal once a week. The new aftermarket design caliper pistons that use o-rings should not eliminated this problem.
Check the gas tank too. Above the left rear tire the EVAP hoses go into a separator. If the hoses that connect the hard line to the separator go bad you will leak gas in that area. Especially bad if you drive the car like that because it tends to leak gas on to the muffler. Better to check and be safe than sorry. Hope this helps.
