I'm looking at a Stewart Stage 2 pump to replace my obliterated pump. From reading their QnA section, it appears that they recommend the 22103 pump for the SB Corvette. Is this the correct pump?
Also, the non-original pump that was destroyed was marked GM15 3839175 and date coded K214. Anyone know what this means?
I'm not familiar with the Stewart pumps but I can tell you what to look for in the specifications. The 71 to 82 vettes used a heavy duty conventional short pump with a 3/4 inch shaft and a 5 13/16 inch block surface to hub distance. Earlier cars and vettes up to 70 had a block surface to hub distance of 5 9/16. You can see by the specs that if you want your pulleys to line up properly you need the correct pump. Hope this helps a little but maybe someone with a knowledge of the Stewart pumps will post.
When I put my ZZ4 together I used a standard short water pump and all my 69 pulleys lined up fine (except the balancer pulley, it was about 1/16" inch to far back. I ended up shimming it out with a round metal spacer about 3" in diameter with a 1" hole in it. Then I put hardened washers around the bolt holes. I glued the spacer and the washers to the balancer with superglue :D and then bolted on the pulley on with thread locker. Then the crank pulley lined up perfectly with the other pulleys.
