Default Lower Control arm shaft issue

So im trying to restore a 74 Vette and decided to tackle changing out the control arm bushings. Its had the originals in it and they were beyond shock. I got the old bushing out but the shaft will not come out at all like in all the videos Ive seen. Advice on how I can get the shaft out? Im thinking im going to have to replace it anyway but need help

I've never watched a video on the subject. Just removed and installed control arm shafts and bushings numerous times.
you have the bushings out. Shaft should fall out.

We need more information, for instance, upper or lower arm(s)? Did you remove the arms and shafts completely from the car, or are you trying to somehow or other, do this with the shafts still attached to the car??

If you've taken all of the bushing parts out, including the outer sleeves, then the shaft should slide all the way into one side and have enough room to take the other side out of the hole and remove the bar easily

Yes both outer sleeves need to come out first. Use an air hammer.

Sorry for lack of info. The problem I had was due to the sleeves still being inside the control arm on the lower control arm. Air hammer was used and they finally broke free. They were both pretty rusted on the lower. I have both upper and lower out of the car. The bushings were so bad the rubber just crumbled in my hands. I wire wheeled both control arms and painted. Now to install new bushings and put it all back together then tackle the other side.
