Vacuum Powered AC controls Question 73 C3
I am currently restoring a 1973 C3 and have a few questions in regards to the Vacuum AC door system.
First, I have replaced each actuator (the three inside and one outside) and the vacuum/vent controller. The vacuum lines are still original. Each feed from the controller that connects to the actuators as well as the supply line has been tested and hold vacuum indefinitely.
The concern is when the system is all working together. I placed a hand help pump on the supply lines and pumped up the system in the off position and was able to maintain, but with still a continued drop in vacuum. As I work my way down, the rate at which the vacuum fell increased to where during the DEF setting I could only bounce the vacuum pump needle from 0 to 5 then an immediate drop. Is this Normal? The controller is supposed to vent out?, but this extreme? You can hear the air when changing the controller setting. What recommendations are there to fix this?
