When I reassembled the heater-box and fan assembly I noticed that there is a big gap/space between the fan assembly and the firewall.
At the moment it's just a first test mount of the fan-assembly, and the butyl-tape is not yet added.
My question is if som one has this expertise ?
Is something wrong?
Or shall I just add a thicker gasket, together with the butyl-tape? And just force it to the firewall with the nuts.
And while we're on the topic, what is the square hole used for?
(Facts:
The body is hanging free and is not mounted to the chasi.
I didn't disassemble this car, I got all parts in cardboard boxes.)
If you force the housing down tight, make sure the fan isn’t hitting inside. I don’t think there is much clearance in there. Loosen or remove the fan from the housing and see if it goes down flush without forcing it.
