Anyone have a loose 460 lb coil laying around? + Digicam?
Wondering if you could take a picture of it sitting next to a soda can so I can get an idea what the difference is between the 550s and 460s. I have a loose 550 coil laying on my bedroom floor, and want to get an idea how the two are different.

Thanks! :) Hope you like the 460s. Here I am, swapping mine out for original 550s. Try your best. I won't be too angry if you don't, though. :blueangel:

I heard rumors the 550s were 460s with a coil removed.
Interestingly enough... coil diameter is 5/8"
Overall length = 12 1/4"
spring diamter 5 1/8".
Must be true. Clutchdust was right. (Though I didn't doubt it.)
So, I should lose about 1.25" with these springs.... maybe less, maybe more.

While speaking to them during the group purchase last month I was told that the 460# springs will drop the car about 1/4" and the 550# springs will drop the about 1".
This was on a big block though - not sure about a small block. I would imagine it would be different though due the weight differences,

Here's a pic of a new 460 and an old 460 spring. the new one is obviously the black shorter one. One consideration though is that the newer spring is made of thicker diameter metal. The car height was the same with the new shorter springs. Maybe a half inch lower ---maybe I cut 3/4 of a coil from the new springs to achieve the height I wanted. Don't know if this'll help.
