Anyone here put in the Borgeson PS unit with BBC and Headers? I have only seen casual warnings about fit because the box is bigger. I am converting from manual steering on a 68 and I think the headers on the car are Hooker. Would love to hear any success or challenges in this configuration.
Well, I found my answer, the Borgeson looks like it will fit the headers but the welded on smog pump attachments do not fit. Guess I will be buying new headers. That said, I will have a complete smog pump setup with headers available for sale. I was really sweating the clutch cross shaft.
I'd be curious if anyone can positively identify these headers. I thought they were Hooker, but comparing the tube bends, not so sure now and I am back to my original dilemma, will Borgeson fit with Hooker Super Comp.

You are very lucky those are one off factory headers they are worth more then the car
Borgeson with 2" Hedman Headers on a big block, with AFR Heads absolutely don't fit! The Borgeson box hits two tubes on top, and the Pitman arm hits one below.

Thanks @JohnRR I think I have identified my current headers and based on the stamp on the flange and side by side, it looks like mine were 2" Hedman. Oddly it appeared that it was the smog pipes that caused the only interference, but quite concerned to go buy another set to not have them fit. Did you find a header that worked with the Borgeson, or did you manifolds?

I used a press and dented the pipes to make them fit. A few years ago, Car Craft magazine did an article that showed how severely denting header tubes made very little difference in engine performance.
A lot of the problem exist because of the AFR Heads. I didn't realize that raising the exhaust port a measly 3/8" would cause so many problems. I now have to use one of those short little spark plug sockets to install/remove all of the plugs because the headers interfere with using a regular socket wrench. I paid a lot of money for these heads, and they have been a constant source of frustration.
