I have a 1980 L48 that has midly ugraded top end and I just upgraded to roller rockers but found that my stock aluminum valve covers no longer worked with the baffles. I got rid of the baffle but after a 100 miles I burned alot of oil and can see oil on spark plugs. I'm assuming I'm sucking that oil back into the carb through the vent and PCV.
Does anyone have a work around or suggestions on what I can add to keep that oil in rocker valley versus having it sucked through PCV valve?
You are going to need to raise the valve cover height and run the baffles. There are spacers and thick gaskets depending on how much clearance you need.

Thanks. I tried to change valve covers previously but had a hard time getting the taller valve cover to fit on passenger side becuase there is a arm that supports the AC compressor that attaches to bolt on intake manifold and there isn't much clearence for taller cover. Has anyone found a taller cover that will work on L48 with the compressor support arm?
Before switching over to a Sanden compressor. I once had taller valve covers. I just deleted that brace.
I never had any issues with it removed.
then I went with the covers I still run today. And the brace fit. So I put it back on but it never made any difference.
Then I finally seen the light. And converted over to a Sanden compressor. And it's mounts do not have such a brace.
