My 69 427 car has always been rock solid driver. Yesterday I'm driving along and feel it miss for a moment then 20 min later it did it again. Made it to work fine, but on the way home different story.
Started and ran fine but first time I had to give it good throttle it cut out and backfired. Picked itself up and went back to running fine. Few minutes later then the rest of the way home it would cut out for a second then go back to running fine.
Felt like any second I'd be pushing it to the shoulder. Car has a tank of good fuel in it and I have not been doing any underhood work lately. My guess is ignition (still has points). But if I have an ignition problem wouldn't it do it all the time?

if condenser is starting to fail or coil or anything it might be intermittent. Do you own a dwell meter and timing light?

No, and that's what makes a problem so hard to find.
You're just going to have to go step by step.
Fuel filter, fuel pump, all the parts of the ignition system.
I once had a primary ignition wire--coil to dist. cap-- go bad, open. I had been seeking the cause of a intermittant miss for over a year, till the wire went totally bad and I found it. A newer, good quality wire. No idea why it failed.
FYI Read my cravat about ignition points that I posted a few days ago, if you decide to change yours. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ating-fix.html
