A/C relay ground loop.

Engine sensor

This sensor on the passenger side of the engine block was not connected to anything when I acquired this 72 SB. There is a wire with a spade connector near by but the wire insulation looks to be burnt and black and I’m unable to accurately ID the color. What is this sensor, how does it appear on the wiring schematic? The other picture showing the spade connector being held is a ground loop that first goes to the ground terminal on the A/C relay. Were does it connect?

Thanks for your help!!

That's the temp sensor for the TCS system, they had 2 internal temps and a jumper that connected them both and that was what told it the engine was warmed up and it could start using the vac-advance. Frequently disconnected a long time ago

Not sure about the wire without knowing the color

Right side? Green wire, extra length, wrapped together with a very narrow piece of tape is what’s used on 71. Stand alone that plugs into a lead in the firewall harness.
