Default Intake manifold question

I'm in the process of reinstalling my Edelbrock 2101 manifold after having to remove it because of a broken off thermostat housing bolt. When I flipped it over to clean the gasket material, I saw this, the back 2 coolant passages plugged up. Surely this didnt come this way did it? I'm the one who originally installed this manifold but it's been 15 years. What could cause this? The passages on the cylinder heads look ok to me. Do I just bust through what's got the intake plugged up, and clean it up from there? The coolant was perfectly green that was drained off, and the car does not run hot. So, in short, what if anything is going on here?

The same heads are used for both sides, the coolant only flows across on the front of the engine. The intake blocks them off on the rear, there is no passages across the intake at the back. You're looking at corrosion

Have a look on the other side of the intake, no place to go

Ok, I dont know if at 52 I can claim a senior moment, but sorry for the panic on my part. I pulled the 2101 up on Edelbrock's website and sure enough, the back ports are blocked. I swear I dont remember that from 15 years ago, but I was wrong. Back to your regularly scheduled programming.

It's all good until you try to bolt it on backwards, then it's time to go in the house and call it a day

I think it'll fit backwards, although I've never tried.
But it sure would be a bugger trying to stab the distributor!

Haha, thanks for the laughs ya'll! Hopefully the car will be running again today after work. Spent last night cleaning up the intake itself, and all the gasket surfaces to prep for install this afternoon.
