Another Super T10 question
Anyhow, my questions are as follows;
Should I pull the transmission and put another gasket behind the retainer?
Does anyone know what clearance I should see between the retainer and the bearing in thousandths?
Am I just worrying about this noise needlessly? I don't recall this level of noise before I pulled the trans, but that doesn't mean it wasn't there.
Most online information says this indicates a bad bearing, but I'm pretty sure the clearance is my issue...if there's any issue at all. Just not sure why I couldn't feel it on the bench.
Thanks.

I see you didn't get the retainer or midplate from me. Unless it was under another name. The retainers have clearance issues. Stacking gaskets is not the correct solution. Richmond resolved the issue and has created a new beautiful forged piece that works fine. Although this is not a Muncie, checking clearance as per my Muncie video works fine. Keep in mind that regardless if you are in gear or in neutral the input is always turning.... so "in gear only" doesn't really make sense. However, I'm not a fan of light weight flywheels. These can cause harmonic issues and low rpm and idle conditions based on idle speed and if you have a heavily cammed car.

Sounds like the correct way to address it is to remove the retainer and clearance in on the lathe. I will poke around further, to see if I've overlooked something. As always, thanks for your response!
Am currently breaking the trans in. It runs and shifts amazing. I appreciate all of the help on this forum, as well as YouTube.
