2003 I installed the level 2 Transmission from Bow tie Overdrives. I installed the B&M controller a few years later which has worked really well.
I noticed my trans pan gasket leaking a little this year so I decided to replace the filter and gasket. The while you’re at it kicked in so I purchased an aluminum trans pan. The only issue I had is that the cast aluminum pan is thicker then the steel pan was so the shifter bracket would not fit to the bolt holes so I had to modify the bracket by grinding some of the inside edge so I could get the bolts back into the holes.
just an fyi for those that might have thought about doing the same thing.

What perfect timing. My new cast aluminum pan is sitting here on the bench and the swap from the old to the new is on next week's TO DO list. I have a B & M shifter and cable set up so I was wondering how much of an adjustment I will have to make. Now I know what I have to look forward to. Not bad. Thanks for the heads up.
The casting holds the bracket away so the bolts won’t go in the holes I ground the casting between the bolt holes to get a flat line. Then I cut the bracket until the bolts lined up with the holes
When i had my TH400 rebuilt a couple years ago i had an aluminum pan put on it. not only did we have to grind the bracket to get the holes to line up but also had to bend the interlock cable bracket. becasue the pan was thicker it moved that cable enough that my ignition key require much greater effort to turn it.
