On my 73, with an automatic, I barely have room for my foot on the gas pedal, without hitting the brake pedal. I have wondered about cutting the brake pedal, bending it over, swapping in a pedal used for a standard transmission. Anyone deal with this? Thanks for any suggestions.
I cut my brake pedal on the right side and put on a smaller rubber pad on it. I don't know the part number for the pad but it was in the help section in the auto parts store. There has been a few threads about doing this.

theres a thread in here from a long time ago that the guy did that and used some other pedal pad.....try the advanced search function. I have to were thin zero rise sneakers in the 4speed car to fit in there. I dont have wide feet either. I cant were sandals either because they are too wide...
I ran a thread about seven years ago.
I used the rubber brake pedal pad for a 2000 C1500 Chevy pickup that I purchased from Napa Auto Parts for about $5.00
I cut approximately 1” off the right side of my 73’s brake pedal with a hacksaw following the same angle on the metal brake pad.
It took about five minutes start to finish.
It was the very first mod I made to mine.
After someone commented that it would no longer get a Bloomington Gold Award from NCRS, I cried, then I said “Oh Well” and made it a restomod.
