I have a 82 with glass t-tops. I want to shade it from the sun in summer. Has anyone used the material style covers from Ecklers, or the peal and re-stick tinted covers from various companies? thanks.
Yes I bought a kit from Corvette Central that is a peel and stick which is a black film with small holes to block most of the sun. They work great and have been on the car for a few years no with no problems. I have no idea if they still sell them though.
Thanks Jim-81, They still sell them but I didn;t know if they were effective. Have you taken yours off and on without problems> Thanks for the response..Rick

I have t top sun shades from Thompson Astro Tops. They are panels that snap into the glass tops. They were purchased from Thompson and are shown in the lower right side of the page:

I have these film liners too. I will say that they don't cover the entire visible glass surface. Even when perfectly centered, there is a .250" to .375" gap all the way around between the edge of the film and the top structure. It doesn't bother me too bad since the gaps are even, but if you want complete 100% coverage, I'd take your tops to your favorite local window tint shop and have them do 'em up. They do stay in place nicely, but like what @Buccaneer said, I'm in Texas so I never plan on taking the film off. Easy install: a couple spritzes of water and a squeegee to smoosh out the bubbles.
