I am wondering if anyone has the correct length of the positive battery cable. I have installed an LT1 and had to move the engine forward to clear the hydraulic clutch , ( right hand drive conversion ) My current cable is about 4-6" too short.
I figure on changing it over to red insulation also, but don't want to remove the old cable and then potentially forgetting the proper way to reinstall. My GM parts catalog says 91" ( I think) , but i figure it is always a good thing to double check.

I appreciate the responses. I will buy an 8' piece and thread it through. I will probably get black insulation because the hardware stores near me don't have red
I personally wouldn't go with black. Down the road someone might think it's the ground cable and touch ground with it and do some electrical parts damage. Have a shop make one (red) for you if you can't find one. Did you try NAPA?
I have continued to look online, and found ' battery cables USA ' that has red wire by the foot. I think I can reuse my end at the starter, and still have to figure out what size hole I need for the side mount. They also have reasonable shipping.
Thanks for all the responses. It is great to belong to this community.
Success ! I was at the salvage yard looking for another part, and ran across a 2004 BMW X5 that has the battery located in the rear of the car. I asked how much for the cable and was told $10 . I didn't have tools to remove it at the time, but went back later . It took 45 minutes to get it removed , and it was over 11 feet long. I bent one end of the cable to fit on the starter, and ran it back to the battery compartment, marked where it entered the compartment so I could install the grommet ( which was tough to remove from the old cable without damaging it. I had to go to the auto parts store for a ring lug for the battery, and my electrician neighbor had the crimping tool to fit.
Unfortunately I didn't take photos , but I now have a red starter cable in case the car ever gets worked on by someone not experienced in these older vehicles.
Thanks to everyone who chimed in.
Now on to the air intake filter system I have to make.

I've raided 3 BMW's at yards so for. Excellent quality wire, and HD fuse panels in Series 5's that can be used to support cooling fans, fuel pumps and other relays, etc.
