How much do I need to remove to replace heater core,I’m doing my 80k interior upgrade,so already have all seats out, carpet and console and removing instrument panel and I’m assuming glove box,so will dash have to be removed to get heater core out,any special tools besides tiny hands. 😝
No, the dash can remain in place. You just remove to the ducts and loosen the right lower corner of the dash just to give it a inch more clearance. Nothing special needed. It's not a bad job to do.
No special tools…but leak test it before installing including after bending the pipes to conform to bracket.
Lots threads on heater cores
for mea pretty tedious job and tight spaces with brittle plastic. Get the seal kit as well.
I have posted on my profile several times, not sure why it doesn’t show up. It’s a 1981 with 80k original miles, and was stock about a year ago but since have E street aluminum heads,Edelbrock intake,AVS carburetor, and added a comp cam 262,and replaced oil pump, new bearings.and have a 200-4R transmission to replace the th350,and Monday should be receiving a new 3.54 differential to replace the original 2,87 gears.
