Re: Anyone watching Barret Jackson Auction (Eddie 70)
Now which car did you end up with. Don Johnsons convertible Cuda?????????
$135k+ :banghead:
Sad part is that car only had a 318!! They didn't open the hood until it reached $100K, that's when everyone seen it was only a 318. I would have been pissed if that were me. Hemi on the fender and a 318 under te hood. :nono:

Re: Anyone watching Barret Jackson Auction (Robert N)
I was watching the rerun this afternoon and an Elanore, 67 Shelby GT500 E went for $180K. The guy was with his woman and she kept telling him yeah, bid again. Talk about crazy.
Re: Anyone watching Barret Jackson Auction (Eddie 70)
Just watched the rerun too. I can't believe how stupid some people are! Specifically reggie jackson and the guy who paid $140K for that DJ cuda. I wish I had the money to go and bid at one of those auctions. That L88 would have looked great in my garage.
It's one thing if there are 20 people bidding on a car, but if it's just you and one other idiot, and everybody else dropped out $50k ago..... (and that fluffer babe is stroking you and saying "go for it baby!!) aren't there any alarm bells going off in that pee brain of yours???? MJ
... and that fluffer babe is stroking you and saying "go for it baby...
The "fluffer babe" is Amy Sparks, she was named the 2000 International Auctioneer Champion, Women’s Division, in a championship conducted by the National Auctioneers Association (NAA).
You can presume the other "fluffer" people BJ hires are also first rate auctioneers in their own right. At those dollar amounts you have the main auctioneer directing traffic, and your own personal auctioneer (fluffer) to encourage you. The "fluffer guys" were doing the same thing - trying to get the best money possible for their clients.
B Jackson also has a free bar set up for the bidders in case your pee brain needs additional lubrication.
Not all the cars go for mega bucks - the off TV cars are more reasonable.
You can search the BJ web site for the cars they have sold in prior years. Some of the cars come up to auction every few years and you can trace their sales history (by VIN). Not all car prices go up.
