Just need someone to confirm my understanding of the wiring on my new 82sending unit so it doesn't go boom.
CFI, electric fuel pump, and computer were removed by a PO and mechanical fuel pump was installed.
I get no voltage reading from any port on the vehicle wiring harness I'm assuming because the fuel pump relay etc. has been removed, but to be safe I want to remove any hot wires from the new sending unit.
From my understanding, in the photo below:
Purple = Resistor wire from float to fuel gauge for fuel level
Black = Ground to complete circuit for fuel pump
Grey = hot wire for fuel pump
So based on that, I should be able to remove the white wire from the sending unit and me good to go. Let me know if I am spot on or off base. Thanks in advance for all the help.
