Im looking into buy a 79' vette. but i really want side-pipe on it, i just love the look of them.
Anyway i have no idea what to look for so can you guys help me out, i was looking at the Holley website which gave me a few ideas.
Are they an easy job to install (the pipes and the exhuast system?) could someone which doesnt know alot about cars e.g ME install them?
and yeah im looking for the ones like one the 69 vette or ones which have 4 big pipes.
If I'm not mistaken Jet Hot has an office in OZ, try searching for them. In the states you can get the sidepipes/headers directly from them at a much better cost than buying painted ones then having them coated. The install isn't bad, get some help from your buddies and it won't take too long. If you have any trouble finding info let me know, a buddy from Sydney was just here and took a set home.
Keep in mind that's only the headers. You still need the pipes and possibly a baffle or muffler. If I had more cash they would definitely be on my vette. But for now I'll settle for the new crate engine. :D If they'll ever ship it. :mad

Re: Side-Pipe Exhuast (C3 Shark Tank)
One other consideration is whether you need your stock "cats" for emission inspection. Hooker side mounts will not pass the visual. :D That's a common problem with '75+ Vettes.
You might try a search for "side-exhaust" or "Hooker side mounts". There've been a ton on posts in the past.
I almost got them for my SB and emailed J-hot for a price, direct. I think it was about $1,000 including delivery to my door. That also included Hooker's muffler inserts. Then I decided to switch to a BB!
Soulja.... I bought my sidemounts at Summit Racing. I am very happy with them. I replaced a set that was on the car for 20+ years. Easy install.
